Successive injection of opposite magnetic helicity: Evidence for active regions without coronal mass ejections

چکیده

Magnetic helicity (MH) is a measure of twist and shear magnetic field. MH injected in the active region (AR) corona through photospheric footpoint motions causing twisted sheared fields. From conservation property helicity, it was conjectured that an already flux rope (FR) with continuous injection inevitably erupts to remove excess accumulated coronal helicity. Therefore, understanding nature evolution transfer crucial reveal intensity flare/CME activity. Using time-sequence vector-magnetograms \textit{Helioseismic Imager}, we study emerging AR 12257. The this inject positive first 2.5 days followed by negative later. This successive opposite consistent sign mean force-free parameter ($\alpha_{av}$), orientation magnetic-tongues. Also, extrapolated structure exhibits transformation global-shear without FR core AR. No CMEs are launched from but C-class flaring activity observed predominantly second half period. ARs reversal not favorable formation therefore important identify CME-less readily. A possible scenario these when one replaced sign, field different connectivity undergoes reconnection at scales giving rise both intermittent flares enhanced heating.

Coronal Mass Ejections

A coronal mass ejection (CME) is an eruption of billions of tonnes of magnetically charged plasma from a star’s corona. The material ejected is sent into interplanetary space where it eventually dissipates. Should the material collide with a planet then that planet’s electro-magnetic field would be temporarily disrupted. If the Earth’s electro-magnetic field were disrupted by a large CME then p...

Coronal Mass Ejections from Sunspot and non-Sunspot Regions

Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) originate from closed magnetic field regions on the Sun, which are active regions and quiescent filament regions. The energetic populations such as halo CMEs, CMEs associated with magnetic clouds, geoeffective CMEs, CMEs associated with solar energetic particles and interplanetary type II radio bursts, and shock-driving CMEs have been found to originate from sunspo...

Composition of Coronal Mass Ejections

We analyze the physical origin of plasmas that are ejected from the solar corona. To address this issue, we perform a comprehensive analysis of the elemental composition of interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs) using recently released elemental composition data for Fe, Mg, Si, S, C, N, Ne, and He as compared to O and H. We find that ICMEs exhibit a systematic abundance increase of eleme...

Characteristic magnetic field and speed properties of interplanetary coronal mass ejections and their sheath regions

[1] Prediction of the solar wind conditions in near-Earth space, arising from both quasi-steady and transient structures, is essential for space weather forecasting. To achieve forecast lead times of a day or more, such predictions must be made on the basis of remote solar observations. A number of empirical prediction schemes have been proposed to forecast the transit time and speed of coronal...

A Statistical Study on Solar Active Regions Producing Extremely Fast Coronal Mass Ejections

We present a statistical result on the properties of solar source regions that have produced 57 fastest front-side coronal mass ejections (CMEs) (speed ≥1500 km s) occurred from 1996 June to 2007 January. The properties of these fast-CME-producing regions, 35 in total, are compared with those of all 1143 active regions (ARs) in the period studied. An automated method, based on SOHO/MDI magnetic...
